Sometimes summer brings along a few days with no chance for a nap, and bedtime getting pushed back a bit later. This all cumulates into a tired little girl. A tired little girl that is forced to get up for swimming lessons. A tired little girl that is forced to get up for swimming lessons that she usually loves.
She still loved them, all the way to the pool, and then... tears. Lots and lots of tears. So, after we tortured her with back floats, head bobs, and swimming with the instructor, it was time for a reprieve.
Today I'm staying home, and the day is filled with lots of relaxation, playing in her 'tent' by the back doors and most definitely, a nap.

love the reflection on the wood...great back lighting too!
ReplyDeleteaah yes. it's hard to stay indoors and be asleep when it's so lovely outside and the days are so long. glad you two got a chance to take it slow :)

ReplyDeleteyes, sometimes we just have to take a step back and stay home. i hear you, here! that view looks almost identical to ours when Owen makes his tent...with the addition of many, many cars with him. i hope you are enjoying your relaxing, stay home day!
ReplyDeletelove the softness of this shot. it is so real. so everyday. ♥ it so much.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite moments are of my children entertaining themselves, unaware I was watching and smiling:)
ReplyDeleteLovely-dreamy photo!!
Ooh, I hope it wasn't too bad. I decided long ago, to NEVER wake Noah up. I learned that lesson when he was an infant-no matter what. It has worked well. ;)
ReplyDeleteBTW diggin' the reflection. Hope today was restful. :)
Sounds familiar! Sometimes those 9:45 a.m. tumbling classes for my little one just seem to be a little too early for all involved...
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this shot! You rocked the camera, girl.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean- my son cried and then refused to get into the pool he was so tired-so we just left, went home and snuggled on the couch.
ReplyDeleteno matter the age ...no matter the schedule...all need a day to relax and just be...
