I had the house to myself last night, after finally getting Aliyah out of the pool and peacefully into bed. It was a long, fulfilling day, the kind that drains you, but leaves you with a smile on your face... and a few messes in the house. I decided to leave the messes, take a shower and relax. Usually I make the opposite decision when the house is "empty," running around cleaning everything that didn't get cleaned, picked up, washed or put away during the course of a few busy days.
But, what the heck. That stuff can wait, right?
Instead I nuzzled up to some flowers. Pretty, serene, happy flowers.
And all was right with the world.
Good thing I don't have a macro lens yet, or I'd probably be making out with it right now.

LOL! I love your last statement there about the macro lens, I actually laughed out loud! Keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteI guess there are a lot of us agreeing with you... I don't own one either but if I did my famly may never see me. I could sit for days just photographing flowers.... This post is so peaceful it makes me wish I could be sitting next to you enjoying it too.

ReplyDeleteI've been so bad about getting over here because I've been sneaking onto blogger at work...BUT...your pics never show up on my work computer. Everyday I tell myself that I'll go home and actually log on and check out everything I've been missing from you but I don't....I forget. Blah to getting old and forgetting. BUT...I will get caught up this weekend. I have to...I love your pictures! Happy Friday.
ReplyDeleteHahah, those are beautiful! Love those moments too...and sometimes need to make the best of them (meaning taking care of ourselves ;-) Good for you! And if I had a macro lens, I'd be making out with it too, tee hee.

ReplyDeleteSometimes you definitely have to just let the messes go. Great pictures...they're fantastic without the macro...but watch out when you get it. Seriously.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I have a macro option on my film Nikon which I love, but I have to use the tripod for it. Awesome flowers. Are they from your garden? I wish I had a green thumb...and money to invest in such things.
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. Picking up the house won't bring you joy. Taking time for yourself and being in nature will never cease to bring you joy. Rock on!

ReplyDeleteI'm like you, when it's quiet in the house ~ I typically do house cleaning. But sometimes, that needs to be put on hold to "stop and smell the roses." Loved the pictures - made me smile!
