Fab Finds:: Eco Store + Giveaway

The Dress

I'm so excited, I could pee.  Although, I am pregnant so that happens often.

FreshPapa brought home a new dress for our sweet Baby Blue... and it really is so cute.  Easter immediately popped into my head.  Can you believe we are already thinking about Easter?

So, we had a try on today.  Hair curled, lip gloss and all.  

My girl pranced in front of the mirror, twirling around, posing, laying on the floor. She loved it, she loved it all.  

And I have to say, so did I.

Oh, and in these photos is a clue for something exciting coming up next week.

Ok, I'm going to go pee now.

goodbye, Dallas

Yes, it has actually been since Sunday night that I said goodbye to Dallas and I've been home, but yesterday was spent playing with my sweet Baby Blue... playing together, cooking together and napping together.  It was a good thing I had this post ready.

Though I only took a few photos, besides this shoot, I was intrigued by stairways.  I'm not sure why.

Maybe these stairways caught my attention because I know I'm at the beginning of my own new journey.  A journey I'm extremely excited about, but can only take one step at a time.

Joaquin:: A Baby Shoot

Don't be jealous.  

I had the chance to spend some time with this little guy for a mini-shoot.  He and his mama were in Dallas... in from NYC.  I don't get to spend time with his mama, my friend Romina, too often, so this was the perfect time to catch up.

He is just such a happy baby and was so intrigued by my camera and my phone.

Just look at those eyes!  I don't think I've seen any quite that blue.

I love that little flirty smirk he likes to give.

He is gorgeous, like his mama.

Is it too early for me to set him up with Aliyah?

1. This really fun and interesting photo series by Rune Guneriussen.

2. Aliyah: "Mommy, when you take my baby brother out of your belly, can he lay down in my bed?"

3. Wearing sandals. Outside. In February.  (The benefits of traveling.)

4. Fresh made juices, by the hand of my sweet little girl (with supervision and help, of course.)

5. Tea & Jam's Grateful Project.  So many colorful and intriguing photos... makes me excited to get home and get more shots of my family.

6.  Wearing stylish and comfortable slippers all over the house, and my hotel room.  My favorite things to have on my feet... besides my husband's hands.

7.  The thought of a home birth with a midwife, and this insightful documentary, The Business of Being Born.

8. My brother Jason and Michelle's fun filled wedding, complete with The Dixie Cups Chapel of Love for the wedding party march.

9. A deep conditioning treatment.  Every girl needs a little pampering, at least my hair certainly did.

10. Any moment I get the chance to chat with Aliyah on iChat.

First Time Around

I thought, with the recent news, it was fitting that Deb @ Dirty Socks and Pizza wanted to see 'first posts', and mine just happens to be about sweet time spent with my first baby. I was more than happy to re-post my first post.

Original entry dated back to April 23, 2007, well before my blog began, but still my first post.



Wow, what an incredible experience. I just tucked Aliyah into her pretty decorated crib, into the sheets that I made my husband take me on an hour drive to buy. It's the bedding set I found online and wanted to see and probably paid too much for.

All that doesn't even matter at this moment. One of Aliyah's night-time "snacking' times came a little earlier tonight, and I wasn't sure if I should go to her or wait and see if she would go back to sleep, but her cries for me just got louder. As I rocked back and forth in the dimly lit room with Aliyah peacefully in my arms, I realized all she really wanted was me. Yes, she ate, but the love that she held me with showed what she was feeling. I can't even begin to explain the overwhelming feeling of love I feel. All I can do is stare... stare at her pretty little lips as she drifts back off to sleep. Stare at her hair that's sticking out all over the place from the baby oil after her evening bath. Stare at her eyebrows so defined already, just at 7 months. All I can do is stare and hold her closer. Not even wanting to put her back into those pretty little sheets. Just to get one last gaze, one last smell of that wonderful baby scent, one last hug from those tiny little arms, and a kiss goodnight, again. I'll see you later Aliyah, later in the night for another "snack". Another rendezvous in the night to love and hold and smile and wish that this moment in time could last forever.
