Just Because.

Just because a spontaneous after dinner wish from our young little fairy was met by a mother's desire to grant her wish.  Just because a decadent bite of chocolate sounded like the perfect night cap to a delicious bar-b-que with friends.  Just because we love spending time together, my little razzle-dazzle girl and I baked into the evening, delaying bedtime like good mamas sometimes do, and made a quick drive up to the store together for the only right accompaniment to chocolate cake... milk.

Just because rich chocolate cake would make a great birthday cake, we lit candles and invited everyone to join in on a rousing chorus of "Happy Birthday to Everyone," though it was nobody's birthday.

And just because I left my camera's memory card with all of our Father's day photos at my office, and my family is too cuddly this morning for me to leave their side to go get it, those pictures will have to wait for another time to see the light of day.

  6. Haha.. LOVE it! That's where a girl comes in handy. I used Father's Day as my excuse to make a chocolate cake (it's John's favorite so of COURSE it was all for him - NOT, lol). Ethan told me to just go ahead and make it.. and he'll eat it when it's done. Gotta love the boys!

  8. What a fun idea. My little OJ loves to sing "happy day...to you" all day long. Maybe we'll do this same thing...except I'll probably buy the cake, or cupcakes. I'm not so much a baker as I am a buyer. :)
