Sunday Citar ~ Home, Again... Almost.

It's Sunday, and you know what that means... it's time to post your Sunday Citar! So round up a quote that you love, that makes you laugh or something new you've heard and share it with us. You know you want to join the fun and make some new friends in the process.

Open Road

"No, life cannot be understood flat on a page. It has to be lived; a person has to get out of his head, has to fall in love, has to memorize poems, has to jump off bridges into rivers, has to stand in an empty desert and whisper sonnets under his breath...We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn't it?"
~Donald Miller, Through Painted Deserts

Today is my last day spent away from the cozy halls of my home and I'll have my last walk through the all too familiar halls of a starched hotel. I long to dig my feet deep into my home soil, settling into the warm earth and letting it's precious dirt graze my skin. I'm ready to plant myself in the beautiful, messy, colorful, sweet scented garden of the dwelling where my heart continually rests.

So tonight, I'll grip the steering wheel and point my car toward home, letting the moments put miles between me and this city away until the instant I can embrace my littles, kiss my husband and whisper home-sweet-home.

Venturing out is fun, it's adventurous.  We're writing our story, and letting it bathe in details and drip with excitement. But our favorite place... the one that feels like each chapter's resolution? Being home. Together.

There will be much more to come about this trip, including our fabulous family meet-up with a fellow blogger, but for now, since it's late and I can't get photos from the trip on my computer (a certain little girl played with my card reader a bit too much) we'll all just have to wait.

  1. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home. The moment is joyful with anticipation and hope when you click your heels. :)

  8. We can't wait to have you home either! I'm afraid you'll have to wait just a bit before you plant those toes in the dirt....it's still frozen. Under snow. And ice. See you soon!
